Pinpoint Test I
- CHECK FOR DTCs
FROM THE APIM SELF-TEST
- Ignition ON.
- Using a scan tool, perform the APIM self-test.
Are any DTCs present?
- Yes: For DTC C1001:01, GO to 7.
For all other DTCs , REFER to DTC CHART: APIM - SONY SOUND .
- No: GO to 2 .
- CHECK FOR DTCs
FROM THE BCM SELF-TEST
- Using a scan tool, perform the BCM self-test.
Is DTC B115E:08 present?
- ENABLE AND VERIFY THE INOPERATIVE VIDEO CAMERA FEATURE
- Enable and verify the inoperative video camera feature (fixed/active guidelines, manual zoom, visual park alert or video camera delay) within the FDIM.
Does the video camera feature operate correctly?
- Yes: The video camera is operating correctly. The video feature concern was caused by the feature being disabled. INFORM the customer on how to enable the video camera features.
- No: For an inoperative fixed/active guideline concern, REFER to Diagnostic Routine M: The Video Guidelines Are Inoperative .
For any other concern, GO to 4 .
- CHECK AND CLEAN THE REAR VIDEO CAMERA LENS
- Clean and make sure the rear video camera lens is clear of any debris.
- Test the video camera system and verify the video camera image.
Is the video camera concern still present?
- Yes: GO to 5 .
- No: The system is operating correctly. The concern was caused by an obstructed/dirty video camera lens.
- CHECK THE REVERSING LAMPS OPERATION
- Check the operation of the reversing lamps.
Do the reversing lamps operate correctly?
- Yes: GO to 6 .
- No: REFER to SYMPTOM CHART: REVERSING LAMPS .
- CHECK THE FDIM DISPLAY
- Place the transmission in reverse.
- Observe the FDIM for 30 seconds.
Does the screen change to video camera mode and display "Please Contact Your Dealership"?
- Yes: GO to 7 .
- No: REFER to PINPOINT TEST W: THE TOUCHSCREEN IS INOPERATIVE OR DOES NOT OPERATE CORRECTLY .
- CHECK THE VIDEO SIGNAL CIRCUITS INTEGRITY
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect: APIM.
- Measure:
APIM APIM C2383 C2383 Pin Circuit Measurement / Action Pin Circuit 14 VMP19 (WH/GN) 15 RPM19 (BN/VT)
Is the resistance between 74 and 106 ohms?
- Yes: GO to 8 .
- No: GO to 13.
- CHECK THE VIDEO CAMERA VOLTAGE SUPPLY CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
- Disconnect: Video Camera.
- Ignition ON.
- Measure:
Video Camera Ground C4357 Ground Pin Circuit Measurement / Action Pin Circuit 1 CBP34 - Ground
Is the voltage greater than 11 volts?
- Yes: GO to 9 .
- No: VERIFY the BCM fuse 34 (10A) is OK. If OK, REPAIR the circuit. If not OK, REFER to the appropriate OEM WIRING DIAGRAMS to identify the possible causes of the circuit short.
- CHECK THE VIDEO CAMERA GROUND CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
- Measure:

Is the voltage greater than 11 volts?
- Yes: GO to 10 .
- No: REPAIR the circuit.
- Measure:
- CHECK THE VIDEO CAMERA SIGNAL CIRCUITS FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
- Ignition OFF.
- Measure:

Are the resistances greater than 10, 000 ohms?
- Yes: GO to 11 .
- No: REPAIR the circuit in question.
- CHECK THE VIDEO CAMERA SIGNAL CIRCUITS FOR A SHORT TO THE VIDEO SHIELD
- Measure:

Are the resistances greater than 10, 000 ohms?
- Yes: GO to 12 .
- No: REPAIR the circuit in question.
- Measure:
- CHECK THE VIDEO CAMERA SIGNAL CIRCUITS FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE
- Ignition ON.
- Measure:
Video Camera Ground C4357 Ground Pin Circuit Measurement / Action Pin Circuit 3 RMP19 - Ground 4 VMP19 - Ground
Is any voltage present?
- Yes: REPAIR the circuit in question.
- No: GO to 18.
- CHECK THE VIDEO CAMERA SIGNAL CIRCUITS FOR A SHORT TO EACH OTHER
- Measure:

Is the resistance greater than 10, 000 ohms?
- Yes: GO to 14 .
- No: REPAIR the circuits.
- Measure:
- CHECK THE VIDEO CAMERA SIGNAL CIRCUITS FOR AN OPEN
- Measure:
Video Camera APIM C4357 C2383 Pin Circuit Measurement / Action Pin Circuit 3 RMP19 14 RMP19 (BN/VT) 4 VMP19 15 VMP19 (WH/GN)
Are the resistances less than 3 ohms?
- Yes: GO to 18.
- No: REPAIR the circuit in question.
- Measure:
- CHECK THE LIN CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect: Video Camera.
- Disconnect: BCM C2280C.
- Ignition ON.
- Measure:
Video Camera Ground C4357 Ground Pin Circuit Measurement / Action Pin Circuit 2 VDN03 - Ground
As any voltage present?
- Yes: REPAIR the circuit.
- No: GO to 16 .
- CHECK THE LIN CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
- Ignition OFF.
- Measure:

Is the resistance greater than 10, 000 ohms?
- Yes: GO to 17 .
- No: REPAIR the circuit.
- CHECK THE LIN CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
- Measure:
Video Camera BCM C4357 C2280C Pin Circuit Measurement / Action Pin Circuit 2 VDN03 12 VDN03 (GY/VT)
Is the resistance less than 3 ohms?
- Yes: GO to 18 .
- No: REPAIR the circuit.
- Measure:
- CHECK FOR CORRECT VIDEO CAMERA OPERATION
- Disconnect the video camera connector.
- Check for:
- corrosion (install new connector or terminals - clean module pins)
- damaged or bent pins - install new terminals/pins
- pushed-out pins - install new pins as necessary
- Reconnect the video camera connector. Make sure it seats and latches correctly.
- Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present.
Is the concern still present?
- Yes: INSTALL a new video camera. REFER to Video Camera .
- No: The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by the video camera connection. ADDRESS the root cause of any connector or pin issues.
