SYMPTOM CHART

No communication with the Headlamp Control Module 2 (HCM-2)	Fuse Wiring, terminals or connectors HCM-2	REFER to MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK article.
The low beams turn on after a 5 second delay when the headlamp switch is placed in the HEADLAMPS ON position	Wiring, terminals or connectors Headlamp switch Smart Junction Box (SJB)	GO to PINPOINT TEST E .
Both high beams are inoperative	Fuse Wiring, terminals or connectors Daytime Running Lamps (DRL) relay 2 Multifunction switch SJB	GO to PINPOINT TEST A .
NOTE: Refer to PRINCIPLES OF OPERATION for the operation of the automatic high beam feature. The automatic high beam feature is inoperative	Windshield debris HCM-2	VERIFY the manual operation of the high beams operates correctly. If the manual operation of the high beams is inoperative, GO to PINPOINT TEST A . If the manual operation of the high beams operates correctly, RUN the on-demand self-test. RETRIEVE the DTCs. REFER to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) CHART .
One low beam headlamp is inoperative - vehicles with halogen headlamps	Fuse Wiring, terminals or connectors Headlamp relay DRL relay 1 Headlamp assembly SJB	VERIFY the bulb is OK. If OK, GO to PINPOINT TEST B .
One low beam headlamp is inoperative - vehicles with High Intensity Discharge (HID) headlamps	Fuse Wiring, terminals or connectors Ballast HID bulb Headlamp assembly SJB	GO to PINPOINT TEST C .
One high beam headlamp is inoperative	Wiring, terminals or connectors Headlamp assembly	GO to PINPOINT TEST D .
The low beam(s) are always on	Wiring, terminals or connectors Headlamp relay Headlamp switch Ballast SJB	GO to PINPOINT TEST E .
The high beam(s) are always on	Wiring, terminals or connectors DRL relay 2 Multifunction switch Headlamp assembly SJB	GO to PINPOINT TEST F .
