NOTE: Refer to DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION article, INTELLIGENT ACCESS (IA) WITH PUSH BUTTON START article in Section 419-01B to review the procedures for achieving the various ignition states (ignition off, ignition in accessory, ignition on, ignition start) on vehicles with this feature.
SYMPTOM CHART

Condition Possible Sources Action
  • The Daytime Running Lamps (DRL) are inoperative
  • Fuse
  • Wiring, terminals or connectors
  • DRL relay
  • Headlamp relay
  • Exterior lighting system input/output
  • Smart Junction Box (SJB) configuration
  • Ignition switch input
  • Transaxle gear input
  • SJB
  • The Daytime Running Lamps (DRL) are always on
  • Wiring, terminals or connectors
  • DRL relay
  • Exterior lighting system input/output
  • SJB
  • The LH headlamp is on and the RH headlamp is inoperative when the DRL are active
  • Wiring, terminals or connectors
  • REPAIR circuit SBB16 (VT/RD) for a short to ground between the headlamp relays. TEST the system for normal operation.
