SYMPTOM CHART - INSTRUMENT CLUSTER AND PANEL ILLUMINATION

A module does not respond to the scan tool	Fuse Wiring, terminals or connectors Module	REFER to SYMPTOM CHART: COMMUNICATION NETWORK .
All dimmable illumination does not dim/increase brightness	Front Lighting Control Module (FLM)	VERIFY the operation of the headlamps. If the headlamps operate correctly, INSTALL a new Front Lighting Control Module (FLM). REFER to FRONT LIGHTING CONTROL MODULE (FLM) . If the headlamps do not operate correctly, REFER to SYMPTOM CHART: HEADLAMPS .
All dimmable non-networked illumination is inoperative	Fuse Wiring, terminals or connectors Body Control Module (BCM)	REFER to Diagnostic Routine A .
All dimmable non-networked illumination is always on	Wiring, terminals or connectors Body Control Module (BCM)	REFER to Diagnostic Routine C .
The steering wheel switch(es) illumination is inoperative	Wiring, terminals or connectors Steering wheel switch(es) Steering wheel harness Clockspring	REFER to Diagnostic Routine E .
The right front or either rear window control switch illumination is inoperative	Window control switch	VERIFY the operation of the power windows. If the power windows operate correctly, INSTALL a new window control switch. REFER to WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH . If the power windows do not operate correctly, REFER to SYMPTOM CHART: GLASS, FRAMES AND MECHANISMS .
The left front window control switch illumination is inoperative	Wiring, terminals or connectors Window control switch	VERIFY the operation of the power mirrors. If the power mirrors operate correctly, INSTALL a new window control switch. REFER to WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH . If the power mirrors are inoperative, REFER to Diagnostic Routine A .
One or more switch or component illumination is inoperative	Wiring, terminals or connectors Illuminated switch Illuminated component	REFER to Diagnostic Routine F .
The Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) illumination is inoperative/does not dim	Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC)	CARRY OUT the network test. If the scan tool responds with no communication with the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC), REFER to DIAGNOSTIC ROUTINE H . If the scan tool communicates with the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC), INSTALL a new Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC). REFER to INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) .
The Front Controls Interface Module (FCIM) illumination is inoperative/does not dim	Front Controls Interface Module (FCIM)	CARRY OUT the network test. If the scan tool responds with no communication with the Front Controls Interface Module (FCIM), REFER to DIAGNOSTIC ROUTINE H . If the scan tool communicates with the Front Controls Interface Module (FCIM), INSTALL a new Front Controls Interface Module (FCIM). REFER to FRONT CONTROLS INTERFACE MODULE (FCIM) (Premium), REFER to FRONT CONTROLS INTERFACE MODULE (FCIM) (Premium Plus) or REFER to FRONT CONTROLS INTERFACE MODULE (FCIM) (Sony® Sound).
The Front Control/Display Interface Module (FCDIM) illumination is inoperative/does not dim	Front Control/Display Interface Module (FCDIM)	CHECK for normal operation of the audio system. If the audio system operates correctly, INSTALL a new Front Control/Display Interface Module (FCDIM). REFER to FRONT CONTROL DISPLAY INTERFACE MODULE (FCDIM) . If the audio system does not operate correctly, REFER to SYMPTOM CHART: GENERAL AUDIO SYSTEM .
The Front Display Interface Module (FDIM) illumination is inoperative/does not dim	Front Display Interface Module (FDIM)	CHECK for normal operation of the audio system. If the audio system operates correctly, INSTALL a new Front Display Interface Module (FDIM). REFER to FRONT DISPLAY INTERFACE MODULE (FDIM) . If the audio system does not operate correctly, REFER to SYMPTOM CHART: GENERAL AUDIO SYSTEM (Premium Plus) or REFER to SYMPTOM CHART: GENERAL AUDIO SYSTEM (Sony® Sound).
The terrain management switch illumination is inoperative/does not dim	All Terrain Control Module (ATCM)	CHECK for normal operation of the terrain management switch. If the system operates correctly, INSTALL a new All Terrain Control Module (ATCM). REFER to ALL TERRAIN CONTROL MODULE (ATCM) . If the system does not operate correctly, REFER to SYMPTOM CHART: FOUR WHEEL DRIVE (4WD) SYSTEMS .
