Pinpoint Test
- CHECK THE TIRE PRESSURE
- Verify the tire pressure in all tires meets the recommended tire pressures on the Vehicle Certification (VC) label. REFER to VEHICLE CERTIFICATION (VC) CODES .
- Do all the tires meet the recommended tire pressures?
- Yes: GO to 2 on page 2.
- No: CORRECT the tire pressures.
- RETRIEVE THE RECORDED Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) FROM Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) SELF-TEST
- Using a scan tool, perform the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) self-test.
- Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded?
- Yes:
For DTC U0140:00, REFER to Diagnostic Routine AV .
For all other Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs), REFER to DTC CHART: INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) .
- No: GO to 3 on page 2.
- RETRIEVE THE RECORDED Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) FROM THE Body Control Module (BCM) SELF-TEST
- Using a scan tool, perform the Body Control Module (BCM) self-test.
- Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded?
- Yes: REFER to DTC CHART: BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) .
- No: GO to 4 on page 2.
- RETRIEVE THE RECORDED Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) FROM THE Tire Pressure Monitor (TPM) MODULE SELF-TEST
- Using a scan tool, perform the Tire Pressure Monitor (TPM) module self-test.
- Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded?
- Yes: REFER to DTC CHART: TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR (TPM) MODULE .
- No: GO to 5 on page 2.
- CARRY OUT THE Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) INDICATOR LAMP CONTROL ACTIVE COMMAND USING THE SCAN TOOL
- Ignition ON.
- Using a scan tool, view the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) Parameter Identifications (PIDs).
- Select the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) warning indicator Parameter Identification (PID) (TPMWARN_LMP). Command Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) warning indicator on and off. Observe the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) warning indicator.
- Does the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) warning indicator illuminate when commanded on and turn off when commanded off?
- Yes:
If the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) warning indicator is never on, the system is operating correctly at this time.
If the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) warning indicator is always on, INSTALL a new Body Control Module (BCM). REFER to BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) - WITH INTELLIGENT ACCESS (IA) or REFER to BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) - WITHOUT INTELLIGENT ACCESS (IA) .
- No: INSTALL a new Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC). REFER to INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) .
