Pinpoint Test

  1. RETRIEVE THE RECORDED Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) FROM THE Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) SELF-TEST
    1. Using a scan tool, perform the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) self-test.
    • Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded? 
    1. Yes:  For Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) U0121:00, REFER to Diagnostic Routine AU .

      For all other Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs), REFER to DTC CHART: INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) .

    2. No:  GO to on page 2.
  2. RETRIEVE THE RECORDED Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) FROM THE Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) MODULE SELF-TEST
    1. Using a scan tool, perform the Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) module self-test.
    • Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded? 
    1. Yes:  REFER to DTC CHART: ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM (ABS) MODULE .
    2. No:  GO to on page 2.
  3. CHECK FOR THE KEY TYPE
    1. Check if the key is the MyKey® programmed key or an administrator key. Refer the Owners Literature.
    • Is the key an administrator key? 
    1. Yes:  GO to on page 2.
    2. No:  If the MyKey® AdvanceTrac® on feature is configured always on, the system is normal. The stability-traction control system cannot be disabled when the AdvanceTrac® on feature is configured always on.

    If the MyKey® AdvanceTrac® on feature is not configured always on, GO to on page 2.

  4. CHECK THE TRACTION CONTROL SETTING THROUGH THE MESSAGE CENTER
    1. Using the Left Hand (LH) steering wheel switch, navigate to the traction control setting menu and observe the traction control setting.
    2. Configure the stability-traction control on then off again.
    • Does the traction control selection change when the feature is configured on and off? 
    1. Yes:  GO to on page 2.
    2. No:  INSTALL a new Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC). REFER to INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) .
  5. CARRY OUT THE Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) INDICATOR LAMP CONTROL ACTIVE COMMAND USING THE SCAN TOOL
  1. Ignition ON.
  2. Using a scan tool, view the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) Parameter Identifications (PIDs).
  3. Select the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) stability-traction control disabled indicator (sliding car OFF icon) Parameter Identification (PID) (STAB_TC_LMP). Command the stability-traction control disabled indicator (sliding car OFF icon) on and off while observing the stability-traction control disabled indicator (sliding car OFF icon).
  1. Yes:  INSTALL a new Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) module. REFER to ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM (ABS) MODULE .
  2. No:  INSTALL a new Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC). REFER to INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) .
