Pinpoint Test

  1. RETRIEVE THE RECORDED Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) FROM THE Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) SELF-TEST
    1. Using a scan tool, perform the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) self-test.
    • Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded? 
    1. Yes:  For Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) U0121:00, REFER to Diagnostic Routine AU .

      For all other Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs), REFER to DTC CHART: INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) .

    2. No:  GO to on page 2.
  2. RETRIEVE THE RECORDED Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) FROM THE Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) MODULE SELF-TEST
    1. Using a scan tool, perform the Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) module self-test.
    • Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded? 
    1. Yes:  REFER to DTC CHART: ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM (ABS) MODULE .
    2. No:  GO to on page 2.
  3. CARRY OUT THE Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) INDICATOR LAMP CONTROL ACTIVE COMMAND USING THE SCAN TOOL
  1. Ignition ON.
  2. Using a scan tool, view the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) Parameter Identifications (PIDs).
  3. Select the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) stability-traction control indicator (sliding car icon) Parameter Identification (PID) (TC/IVD/RSCLMP). Command the stability-traction control indicator (sliding car icon) on and off while observing the stability-traction control indicator (sliding car icon).
  1. Yes:  If the stability-traction control indicator (sliding car icon) is never on, the system is operating correctly at this time.

    If the stability-traction control indicator (sliding car icon) is always on, INSTALL a new Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) module. REFER to ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM (ABS) MODULE .

  2. No:  INSTALL a new Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC). REFER to INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) .
