Pinpoint Test

  1. RETRIEVE THE RECORDED Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) FROM THE Powertrain Control Module (PCM) Key ON Engine OFF (KOEO) SELF-TEST
    1. Using a scan tool, perform the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) Key ON Engine OFF (KOEO) self-test.
    • Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded? 
    1. Yes:  REFER to the appropriate Powertrain Control/Emissions Diagnosis (PC/ED) manual INTRODUCTION - GASOLINE MODELS .
    2. No:  GO to on page 2.
  2. CHECK FOR CORRUPTED Non-Volatile Memory (NVM)
    1. Ignition ON.
    2. Observe the message center display area.
    • Does the odometer display ERROR? 
    1. Yes:  INSTALL a new Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC). REFER to INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) .
    2. No:  GO to on page 2.
  3. RETRIEVE THE RECORDED Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) FROM THE Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) SELF-TEST
  1. Using a scan tool, perform the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) self-test.
  1. Yes:  For Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) U0100:00, REFER to Diagnostic Routine AR . For all other Diagnostic

    Trouble Codes (DTCs), REFER to DTC CHART: INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) .

  2. No:  INSTALL a new Powertrain Control Module (PCM). REFER to POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE (PCM) .
