Satellite Audio Bezel Diagnostic Test

NOTE:
To enter the test, the audio unit must be turned on and in SAT mode.
- To enter the satellite audio bezel diagnostic test, simultaneously press the AUX button and preset button 2.
- Upon entering the self-test, the audio unit produces 2 continuously alternating tones of different pitch, one for the right channel, then one for the left.
- The test continues by displaying any DTCs currently present. If no DTCs are present, NO DTCS will be displayed. If there are DTCs present, the audio unit will auto-scroll through the list of active DTCs.
- Historical DTCs can be viewed by pressing the AUX button and preset button 2 simultaneously while in the active DTC mode.
- If any DTCs are present, pressing the AUX button and preset button 2 will prompt CLEAR DTCS? on the audio unit display.
- To clear historical DTCs, press preset buttons 1, 2, and 3 consecutively within 4 seconds.
- To exit historical DTCs (with or without clearing DTCs), press the AUX button and preset button 2 simultaneously.
- If no historical DTCs are present, pressing the AUX button and preset button 2 simultaneously while in active DTC mode will display the DLP software version.
- To exit the satellite audio bezel diagnostic test, press the AUX button and preset button 2 simultaneously while the DLP software version is displayed, or turn the audio unit off.
- If the concern remains and the fault is not detected, go to Symptom Chart .CAUTION: For the CD6 and TREMOR audio units, the audio unit must be placed in shipment mode before removal. DTC Description Action B1031 SAT SDARS Satellite Antenna Open Go to Pinpoint Test H . B1032 SAT SDARS Satellite Antenna Short Go to Pinpoint Test H . B1318 SAT SDARS Satellite Antenna Open DOCUMENT and CLEAR the DTCs. CARRY OUT the self-test. If DTC B1318 SAT is retrieved again, REFER to CHARGING SYSTEM - GENERAL INFORMATION to diagnose the low battery voltage condition. B1342 CD Audio Single-Disc CD Internal Fault DOCUMENT and CLEAR the DTCs. CARRY OUT the self-test. If DTC B1342 CD is retrieved again, REMOVE the audio unit and SEND it to an authorized audio system repair facility. REFER to Audio Unit . TEST the system for normal operation after the repair. B1342 ECU ECU is Defective DOCUMENT and CLEAR the DTCs. CARRY OUT the self-test. If DTC B1342 ECU is retrieved again, REMOVE the audio unit and SEND it to an authorized audio system repair facility. REFER to Audio Unit . TEST the system for normal operation after the repair. B1342 SAT ECU is Defective DOCUMENT and CLEAR the DTCs. CARRY OUT the self-test. If DTC B1342 SAT is retrieved again, REMOVE the satellite radio receiver and SEND it to an authorized audio system repair facility. REFER to Audio Unit . TEST the system for normal operation after the repair. B1342 TAPE Audio Tape Deck Mechanism Fault VERIFY that no cassette is inserted in the audio unit. CLEAR and DOCUMENT the DTCs. CARRY OUT the self-test. If DTC B1342 TAPE is retrieved again, REMOVE the audio unit and SEND it to an authorized audio system repair facility. REFER to Audio Unit . TEST the system for normal operation after the repair. B2103 TUNER Antenna Not Connected Go to Pinpoint Test B . B2209 ECU ECU ROM Checksum Error DOCUMENT and CLEAR the DTCs. CARRY OUT the self-test. If DTC B2209 ECU is retrieved again, REMOVE the audio unit and SEND it to an authorized audio system repair facility. REFER to Audio Unit . TEST the system for normal operation after the repair. B2404 SWC Audio Steering Wheel Switch Circuit Fault DOCUMENT and CLEAR the DTCs. CARRY OUT the self-test. If DTC B2404 SWC is retrieved again, REMOVE the audio unit and SEND it to an authorized audio system repair facility. REFER to Audio Unit . TEST the system for normal operation after the repair. B2405 CD Audio Single-Disc CD Thermal Fault DOCUMENT and CLEAR the DTCs. CARRY OUT the self-test. If DTC B2405 CD is retrieved again, REMOVE the audio unit and SEND it to an authorized audio system repair facility. REFER to Audio Unit . TEST the system for normal operation after the repair. B2406 CD Audio Single-Disc CD Mechanism Fault or Audio Single-Disc CD Unreadable Media Fault DOCUMENT and CLEAR the DTCs. CARRY OUT the self-test. If DTC B2406 CD is retrieved again, REMOVE the audio unit and SEND it to an authorized audio system repair facility. REFER to Audio Unit . TEST the system for normal operation after the repair. B2857 CD Audio Multiple-Disc CD Internal Fault or Audio CD Multiple-Disc CD Unreadable Media Fault DOCUMENT and CLEAR the DTCs. CARRY OUT the self-test. If DTC B2857 CD is retrieved again, REMOVE the audio unit. REFER to Audio Unit . SEND it to an authorized audio system repair facility. TEST the system for normal operation after the repair. B2858 CD Audio Multiple-Disc CD Player Thermal Fault DOCUMENT and CLEAR the DTCs. CARRY OUT the self-test. If DTC B2858 CD is retrieved again, REMOVE the audio unit and SEND it to an authorized audio system repair facility. REFER to Audio Unit . TEST the system for normal operation after the repair.
