Oil Pump: Removal

  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES article.
  2. Remove the oil pan. For additional information, refer to Engine Lubrication Components - Exploded View  and Oil Pan - Rear Wheel Drive (RWD)  or Oil Pan - Four Wheel Drive (4WD)  in this article.
  3. Remove the bolt and the oil pump.
  4. Clean and inspect the oil pump assembly. For additional information, refer to ENGINE SYSTEM - GENERAL INFORMATION article.
