Inspection and Verification

  1. Verify the customer concern by operating the system.
  2. Visually inspect for obvious signs of mechanical or electrical damage.
    VISUAL INSPECTION CHART

    Mechanical Electrical
    • Loose or damaged seat mounting hardware
    • Front seat tracks obstructed
    • Seat at limit(s) of travel
    • Damaged switch(es)
    • Damaged seat trim cover
    • Damaged seat track
    • Battery junction box (BJB):
      • circuit breaker 601 (20A)
      • fuse 16 (20A)
    • Central junction box (CJB) fuse(s):
      • 9 (7.5A)
      • 17 (10A)
    • Faulty wiring harness
    • Loose, corroded or damaged connectors
    • Damaged seat control switch
    • Damaged lumbar control switch
    • Damaged heated seat switch
    • Damaged seat track motor
  3. If an obvious cause for an observed or reported concern is found, correct the cause (if possible) before proceeding to the next step.
  4. If the concern is not visually evident, verify the symptom. Go to Symptom Chart .
