Upper Arm: Installation

  1. Position the upper arm and loosely install the 2 new bolts and nuts.
  2. Attach the wheel speed sensor retainers to the upper arm.
  3. Install the shock absorber and spring assembly. For additional information, refer to SHOCK ABSORBER AND SPRING ASSEMBLY ,
  4. Install the wheel and tire. For additional information, refer to WHEELS & TIRES article.
  5. With the weight of the vehicle on the wheel and tire assemblies, tighten the 2 new upper arm nuts to 150 Nm (111 lb-ft).
  6. Check and if necessary, align the front end. For additional information, refer to SUSPENSION SYSTEM - GENERAL INFORMATION article.
  7. WARNING: If the vehicle is equipped with a fire suppression system, repower the system. For important safety warnings and procedures, refer to FIRE SUPPRESSION SYSTEM article. Failure to follow these instructions may result in serious personal injury.
  8. If equipped with a fire suppression system, repower the system.
