Upper Arm: Installation

    NOTE: The rear suspension upper arms are interchangeable from side-to-side, with FRONT and OUTBOARD stamped on the side of the arms for positioning during installation.
  1. Position the upper arm and loosely install the upper arm-to-frame bolt.
  2. Loosely install the upper arm-to-axle bolt and flagnut.

  4. Before tightening the fasteners, use a suitable jack to raise the suspension until the distance between the lip of the fender and the center of the wheel hub is equal to the measurement taken in the removal procedure.
  5. Tighten the upper arm-to-frame bolt to 150 Nm (111 lb-ft).
  6. Tighten the upper arm-to-axle bolt to 90 Nm (66 lb-ft).
  7. Install the wheel and tire. For additional information, refer to WHEELS & TIRES article.
  8. WARNING: If the vehicle is equipped with a fire suppression system, repower the system. For important safety warnings and procedures, refer to FIRE SUPPRESSION SYSTEM article. Failure to follow these instructions may result in serious personal injury.
  9. If equipped with fire suppression, repower the system.
