The CD player is inoperative/does not operate correctly	CD Audio unit	INSPECT the CD for scratches, fingerprints, a loose paper label, incorrect format, or damage. INSERT a known good CD and TEST the system. If the system operates correctly, the concern was caused by a damaged CD. If the system does not operate correctly, INSTALL a new audio unit. REFER to Audio Unit . TEST the system for normal operation.

Poor reception - satellite audio	Obstructions to the line of sight	DRIVE the vehicle to an open area and TEST the reception. If the reception is OK, INFORM the customer that the satellite signal can be affected by obstructions to the satellite radio antenna line of sight. If the reception is not OK, go to Pinpoint Test J .

Continuous seek/scan in AM/FM	RDS function setting	VERIFY the RDS/PTY function is set to ALL. REFER to the Owner's Literature. SCAN for a good channel. If a good channel is found, the cause of the concern was that no RDS/PTY channel in the selected category was found. The system is OK. If no good channel is found, go to Pinpoint Test A .

Poor quality/distorted/no sound from all speakers - all audio systems except THX®	Circuitry Audio unit	NOTE: If DTC B2965 is set in the audio unit, the cause of the concern is a short to ground or short to voltage in the circuitry to an individual speaker. Go to Pinpoint Test B . With the key in RUN, MEASURE the voltage between the audio unit C290a-15, circuit CBP13 (GY/BN), harness side and ground. If voltage is present, REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation. If no voltage is present, INSTALL a new audio unit. REFER to Audio Unit . TEST the system for normal operation.
Poor quality/distorted/no sound from all speakers - THX® audio system	Fuse Circuitry THX® amplifier Audio unit	Go to Pinpoint Test D .

The video system is inoperative/does not operate correctly - no video	Damaged DVD DVD player setting DVD player	NOTE: VERIFY a good DVD is inserted into the DVD player. PRESS the power button on the DVD player. If the video does not display, PRESS the VIDEO button once or twice. If the video displays, the concern was caused by an incorrect system setting. INFORM the customer that pressing the power button or the VIDEO button while a DVD is playing can cause the display to go blank. If the video still does not display, INSTALL a new DVD player. REFER to Digital Versatile Disc (DVD) Player . TEST the system for normal operation.
The video system is inoperative/does not operate correctly - no audio	Circuitry DVD player Audio unit	Go to Pinpoint Test K .
No auxiliary headphone audio - all audio systems except THX®	Headphones DVD player	INSTALL a set of known good headphones and OPERATE the audio system in radio tuner mode. If the system operates correctly, the concern was caused by inoperative headphones. If the system does not operate correctly, INSTALL a new DVD player. REFER to Digital Versatile Disc (DVD) Player . TEST the system for normal operation.
No auxiliary headphone audio - THX®	Circuitry Headphones DVD player	Go to Pinpoint Test L .

NOTE: Verify the speed sensitive volume setting is OK before diagnosing this concern. The speed sensitive volume does not operate correctly	Instrument cluster Audio unit	CHECK for audio unit DTCs. If DTC U0155 or U2473 is present, REFER to AUDIO UNIT DTC CHART . If no DTCs related to the concern are present, INSTALL a new audio unit. REFER to Audio Unit . TEST the system for normal operation.

If no concern is found, INSERT a known good map DVD. TEST the system. If the system operates correctly, the concern was caused by a damaged or inoperable map DVD. If the system does not operate correctly, INSTALL a new audio unit. REFER to Audio Unit . TEST the system for normal operation.
The screen does not open/close	Trim panel interference Audio unit	INSPECT the instrument panel center trim panel for interference with the navigation screen, and REPAIR as necessary. If no interference is found, INSTALL a new audio unit. REFER to Audio Unit . TEST the system for normal operation.
