Input Shaft Seal

Remover/Installer, PTU Input Shaft Seal 308-777 (includes 308-777/1, 308-777/2, 308-777/3, 308-777/4 and 308-777/5)
  1. Clean the Power Transfer Unit (PTU) input shaft opening.

  2. Position the inner seal above the PTU input shaft opening with the spring facing toward the PTU. Using the Seal Installer and the Handle, install the seal.

  3. Position the outer seal above the PTU input shaft opening with the spring facing away from the PTU. Using the Seal Installer and the Handle, install the seal.

  4. Install the new compression seal.

  5. Install the PTU. For additional information, refer to Power Transfer Unit (PTU) .
  6. Fill the PTU as necessary. For additional information, refer to Power Transfer Unit (PTU) Draining and Filling .
