Rear Disc Brake: Removal

  1. Remove the wheel and tire. For additional information, refer to WHEELS & TIRES .
  2. NOTE: Do not allow the caliper to hang from the brake hose or damage to the hose can occur.
  3. Remove and discard the 2 brake caliper anchor plate bolts and position the brake caliper and anchor plate assembly aside.
    • Support the brake caliper and anchor plate assembly using mechanic's wire.
    • To install, tighten the new anchor plate bolts to 103 Nm (76 lb-ft).
  4. Remove and discard the brake disc screw.
    • To install, tighten the new brake disc screw to 20 Nm (177 lb-in).
  5. Thread a M10 bolt into the brake disc removal hole and tighten to press the disc off the hub.
