Rear Brake Pads: Installation
- Using the Rear Caliper Piston Adjuster (or equivalent such as OTC tool 7317A), rotate the caliper piston clockwise to compress the piston into its cylinder.
- Clean the residual adhesive from the brake caliper fingers and piston using specified brake parts cleaner.
- Position the notch in the caliper piston so that it will correctly align with the pin on the backside of the inboard brake pad.
- Install the new spring clips and brake pads to the brake caliper anchor plate.
- Position the brake caliper and install the 2 bolts.
- Tighten to 33 Nm (24 lb-ft).
- If necessary, fill the brake fluid reservoir with clean, specified brake fluid.
- Apply brakes several times to verify correct brake operation.

NOTE:
A moderate to heavy force toward the caliper piston must be applied. If sufficient force is not applied, the internal park brake mechanism clutch cone will not engage and the piston will not compress.
NOTE:
Do not allow grease, oil, brake fluid or other contaminants to contact the pad lining material, or damage to components may occur. Do not install contaminated pads.
NOTE:
During installation, make sure brake flexible hose does not become twisted. A twisted brake hose may make contact with other components causing damage to the hose.
