The charging system warning display is incorrect	Circuitry Generator Powertrain control module (PCM) Instrument cluster	OBSERVE the charging system warning indicator. If the charging system warning indicator operates correctly, INSTALL a new instrument cluster. REFER to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION . TEST the system for normal operation. If the charging system warning indicator does not operate correctly, REFER to PINPOINT TEST N: THE CHARGING SYSTEM WARNING INDICATOR IS NEVER ON to continue diagnosis of the charging system warning indicator.
The low washer fluid level display is inoperative	Circuitry Washer fluid level switch Instrument cluster	OBSERVE the low washer fluid level indicator. If the low washer fluid level indicator operates correctly, INSTALL a new instrument cluster. REFER to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION . TEST the system for normal operation. If the low washer fluid level indicator does not operate correctly, REFER to PINPOINT TEST Z: THE LOW WASHER FLUID INDICATOR IS NEVER/ALWAYS ON to continue diagnosis of the low washer fluid indicator.
The door ajar display is inoperative	Circuitry Door ajar switch(es) Vehicle security module Instrument cluster	OBSERVE the door ajar warning indicator. If the door ajar warning indicator operates correctly, INSTALL a new instrument cluster. REFER to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION . TEST the system for normal operation. If the door ajar warning indicator does not operate correctly, REFER to PINPOINT TEST I: THE DOOR AJAR INDICATOR IS INOPERATIVE (CHIME IS OPERATIVE)/DOES NOT OPERATE CORRECTLY to continue diagnosis of the door ajar warning indicator.
The low fuel display is inoperative	Circuitry Fuel pump module Instrument cluster	OBSERVE the low fuel warning indicator. If the low fuel warning indicator operates correctly, INSTALL a new instrument cluster. REFER to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION . TEST the system for normal operation. If the low fuel warning indicator does not operate correctly, REFER to PINPOINT TEST F: THE LOW FUEL WARNING INDICATOR IS NEVER/ALWAYS ON to continue diagnosis of the low fuel warning indicator.
The distance to empty (DTE), average fuel economy display is inoperative	Circuitry Instrument cluster Powertrain control module (PCM) Anti-lock brake system (ABS) module	CHECK the operation of the speedometer, the fuel gauge and the odometer. If the speedometer, the fuel gauge and the odometer do not operate correctly, REFER to PINPOINT TEST AF: THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER IS INOPERATIVE to continue diagnosis of the instrument cluster. If the speedometer, the fuel gauge and the odometer operate correctly, INSTALL a new instrument cluster. REFER to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION . TEST the system for normal operation.
The low brake fluid level display is inoperative	Circuitry Brake fluid level switch Instrument cluster	OBSERVE the brake warning indicator. If the brake warning indicator operates correctly, INSTALL a new instrument cluster. REFER to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION . TEST the system for normal operation. If the brake warning indicator does not operate correctly, REFER to PINPOINT TEST L: THE BRAKE WARNING INDICATOR IS NEVER/ALWAYS ON to continue diagnosis of the brake warning indicator.
The low oil pressure display is inoperative	Circuitry Oil pressure switch Instrument cluster	OBSERVE the operation of the oil pressure gauge. If the oil pressure gauge operates correctly, INSTALL a new instrument cluster. REFER to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION . TEST the system for normal operation. If the oil pressure gauge does not operate correctly, REFER to PINPOINT TEST D: INCORRECT OIL PRESSURE GAUGE INDICATION to continue diagnosis of the oil pressure gauge.
The check engine temperature display is inoperative	Engine temperature sensor Powertrain control module (PCM) Instrument cluster	OBSERVE the operation of the temperature gauge. If the temperature gauge operates correctly, INSTALL a new instrument cluster. REFER to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION . TEST the system for normal operation. If the temperature gauge does not operate correctly, REFER to PINPOINT TEST E: INCORRECT TEMPERATURE GAUGE INDICATION to continue diagnosis of the temperature gauge.
The check tire pressure display is inoperative	Circuitry Low tire pressure module Instrument cluster	OBSERVE the operation of the low tire warning indicator. If the low tire warning indicator operates correctly, INSTALL a new instrument cluster. REFER to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION . TEST the system for normal operation. If the low tire warning indicator does not operate correctly, REFER to PINPOINT TEST W: THE LOW TIRE WARNING INDICATOR IS NEVER/ALWAYS ON to continue diagnosis of the check tires indicator.
The power liftgate display is inoperative	Circuitry Power liftgate module Instrument cluster	GO to PINPOINT TEST E .
The power running boards display is inoperative	Running board motor(s) Power liftgate module Instrument cluster	GO to PINPOINT TEST F .
The park assist On/Off display is inoperative (Expedition)	Parking aid module Instrument cluster	GO to PINPOINT TEST G .
The park assist On/Off display is inoperative (Navigator)	Parking aid module Instrument cluster	OBSERVE the operation of the parking aid. If the park assist operates correctly, INSTALL a new instrument cluster. REFER to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION . TEST the system for normal operation. If the park assist does not operate correctly, REFER to PARKING AID to continue diagnosis of the parking aid system.
The outside air temperature display does not operate correctly	Circuitry Outside air temperature sensor	For vehicles equipped with electronic automatic temperature control (EATC), REFER to CLIMATE CONTROL SYSTEM-GENERAL INFORMATION AND DIAGNOSTICS . For vehicles without EATC, REFER to INSTRUMENT CLUSTER .
