Pinpoint Test H: The Instrument Panel Illumination Does Not Dim

H1 CHECK THE INSTRUMENT PANEL ILLUMINATION
- Place the headlamp switch in the parking lamps ON position.
- Rotate the instrument panel dimmer switch to the full illumination position.
- Do the audio unit, climate control unit, and instrument cluster backlights illuminate?
  - Yes : GO to H2.
  - No : GO to PINPOINT TEST A .
H2 CHECK CIRCUIT 29S-DA2 (OG/BU) FOR A SHORT TO POWER
- Key in OFF position.
- Disconnect: Headlamp Switch C205.
- Key in ON position.
- Are the backlighting components illuminated?
  - Yes : REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
  - No : INSTALL a new headlamp switch. REFER to EXTERIOR LIGHTING . TEST the system for normal operation.
