Pinpoint Test C: DTC P2612 - A/C Refrigerant Distribution Valve (Battery Zone) Control Circuit Low/DTC P2613 - A/C Refrigerant Distribution Valve Control (Battery Zone) Circuit High
WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
- C1 CHECK CIRCUIT 3206 (LG/YE) FOR VOLTAGE
- Depower the HVTB. Refer to HIGH VOLTAGE TRACTION BATTERY .
- Disconnect: Battery Zone Valve C4230.
- Key in ON position.
- Measure the voltage between the battery zone valve C4230-1, circuit 3206 (LG/YE), harness side and ground.
- Is the voltage greater than 10 volts?
- Yes : GO to C2.
- No : REPAIR the circuit. REPOWER the HVTB. REFER to HIGH VOLTAGE TRACTION BATTERY . CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
- C2 CHECK CIRCUIT 214 (PK/LB) FOR AN OPEN OR A SHORT TO GROUND
- Key in OFF position.
- Disconnect: TBCM C4227a.
- Measure the resistance between the TBCM C4227a-33, circuit 214 (PK/LB), harness side and the battery zone valve C4230-2, circuit 214 (PK/LB), harness side; and between the TBCM C4227a-33, circuit 214 (PK/LB), harness side and ground.
- Is the resistance less than 5 ohms between the connectors, and greater than 10,000 ohms between the TBCM and ground?
- Yes : GO to C3.
- No : REPAIR the circuit. REPOWER the HVTB. REFER to HIGH VOLTAGE TRACTION BATTERY . CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
- C3 CHECK CIRCUIT 214 (PK/LB) FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE
- Key in ON position.
- Measure the voltage between the TBCM C4227a-33, circuit 214 (PK/LB), harness side and ground.
- Is any voltage present?
- Yes : REPAIR the circuit. REPOWER the HVTB. REFER to HIGH VOLTAGE TRACTION BATTERY . CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
- No : GO to C4.
- C4 CHECK THE BATTERY ZONE VALVE
- Key in OFF position.
- Connect: Battery Zone Valve C4230.
- Install a fused (5A) jumper wire between the TBCM C4227a-33, circuit 214 (PK/LB), harness side and ground.
- Momentarily cycle the ignition switch to the RUN position while holding onto the battery zone valve.
- Does the battery zone valve engage?
- Yes : GO to C5.
- No : INSTALL a new battery zone valve. REFER to AUXILIARY CLIMATE CONTROL - ESCAPE HYBRID . REPOWER the HVTB. REFER to HIGH VOLTAGE TRACTION BATTERY . CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
- C5 CHECK FOR CORRECT TBCM OPERATION
- Disconnect all the TBCM connectors.
- Check for:
- corrosion
- pushed-out pins
- Connect all the TBCM connectors and make sure they seat correctly.
- Operate the system and verify the concern is still present.
- Is the concern still present?
- Yes : INSTALL a new TBCM. REFER to HIGH VOLTAGE TRACTION BATTERY . TEST the system for normal operation.
- No : The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
