WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. C1 CHECK CIRCUIT 3206 (LG/YE) FOR VOLTAGE
    • Depower the HVTB. Refer to HIGH VOLTAGE TRACTION BATTERY .
    • Disconnect: Battery Zone Valve C4230.
    • Key in ON position.
    • Measure the voltage between the battery zone valve C4230-1, circuit 3206 (LG/YE), harness side and ground.

    • Is the voltage greater than 10 volts?
  2. C2 CHECK CIRCUIT 214 (PK/LB) FOR AN OPEN OR A SHORT TO GROUND
    • Key in OFF position.
    • Disconnect: TBCM C4227a.
    • Measure the resistance between the TBCM C4227a-33, circuit 214 (PK/LB), harness side and the battery zone valve C4230-2, circuit 214 (PK/LB), harness side; and between the TBCM C4227a-33, circuit 214 (PK/LB), harness side and ground.

    • Is the resistance less than 5 ohms between the connectors, and greater than 10,000 ohms between the TBCM and ground?
  3. C3 CHECK CIRCUIT 214 (PK/LB) FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE
    • Key in ON position.
    • Measure the voltage between the TBCM C4227a-33, circuit 214 (PK/LB), harness side and ground.

    • Is any voltage present?
  4. C4 CHECK THE BATTERY ZONE VALVE
    • Key in OFF position.
    • Connect: Battery Zone Valve C4230.
    • Install a fused (5A) jumper wire between the TBCM C4227a-33, circuit 214 (PK/LB), harness side and ground.

    • Momentarily cycle the ignition switch to the RUN position while holding onto the battery zone valve.
    • Does the battery zone valve engage?
  5. C5 CHECK FOR CORRECT TBCM OPERATION
    • Disconnect all the TBCM connectors.
    • Check for:
      • corrosion
      • pushed-out pins
    • Connect all the TBCM connectors and make sure they seat correctly.
    • Operate the system and verify the concern is still present.
    • Is the concern still present?
    • Yes  : INSTALL a new TBCM. REFER to HIGH VOLTAGE TRACTION BATTERY . TEST the system for normal operation.
    • No  : The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
