- CHECK the transmission fluid level. ADJUST transmission fluid to correct level. REFER to PRELIMINARY INSPECTION .
- INSTALL a new transmission fluid filter assembly.

| Powertrain Control System |

- PCM (gasoline engines), Transmission Control Module (TCM) (diesel engines), external vehicle harness, transmission internal harness, or Transmission Fluid Temperature (TFT)
|
- CARRY OUT the Key ON Engine OFF (KOEO) and Key ON Engine Running (KOER) self-test. For gasoline engines GO to PINPOINT TEST B . For diesel engines GO to PINPOINT TEST G . REPAIR as required. CLEAR the DTCs. TEST the vehicle system for normal operation.

- Transmission fluid filter and seal assembly - plugged, damaged

- VERIFY line pressure. If line pressure is below specification, INSTALL a new transmission fluid filter assembly.
- VERIFY line pressure. If line pressure is below specification, INSTALL a new pump assembly. REFER to TRANSMISSION - OVERHAUL .
