- CHECK the transmission fluid level. ADJUST transmission fluid to correct level. REFER to PRELIMINARY INSPECTION .

- Transmission fluid filter and seal assembly - plugged, damaged

- INSTALL a new transmission fluid filter assembly.

- Selector lever cable system - damaged, misadjusted

- PCM (gasoline engines), Transmission Control Module (TCM) (diesel engines), external vehicle harness, transmission internal harness, or Shift Solenoid A (SSA)

- CARRY OUT the Key ON Engine OFF (KOEO) and Key ON Engine Running (KOER) self-test. For gasoline engines GO to PINPOINT TEST A . For diesel engines GO to PINPOINT TEST F . REPAIR as required. CLEAR the DTCs. TEST the vehicle system for normal operation.
