- CARRY OUT On-Board Diagnostic (OBD) tests. REFER to the

article for diagnosis and testing of the PCM. For diagnosing SSPCB
, GO to PINPOINT TEST A . For diagnosing TFT
sensor, GO to PINPOINT TEST B . For diagnosing TSS
/intermediate shaft speed and OSS
sensor, GO to PINPOINT TEST E . REPAIR as necessary. CLEAR the DTCs, ROAD TEST the vehicle and RERUN the OBD
test.

- CHECK transmission fluid level and adjust as necessary. REFER to PRELIMINARY INSPECTION in this service information.
- CARRY OUT the Transmission Fluid Condition Check. REFER to PRELIMINARY INSPECTION in this service information.

| Incorrect Line Pressures |
- CHECK pressure at line tap. Carry out Line Pressure Test. REFER to SPECIAL TESTING PROCEDURES in this service information. FOLLOW the pressure diagnosis test as required.

|
|
| Solenoid Body Assembly |
- Bolts not tightened to specification
|
- TIGHTEN to specification.
|
|
|
- INSTALL a new filter gasket.
|
|
|
- DISASSEMBLE and CLEAN.
- If damaged or parts are missing, INSTALL a new solenoid body assembly. If misassembled, reassemble correctly.
|
- Solenoid damaged, stuck or bore damaged, manual valve damaged, stuck or bore damaged
|
| Fluid Pump Assembly |
- Bolts not tightened to specification
|
- TIGHTEN to specification.
|
|
|
|
- Porosity, cross leaks, cup plug missing, plugged hole
|
|
- Pump gears and/or gear pocket damaged
|
- INSTALL a new pump.
- INSTALL a new seal or pump assembly.
|
- Control valves, springs or seals damaged, stuck or not assembled correctly
|
| Torque Converter |
- REMOVE the transmission. INSPECT for damage. REFER to TORQUE CONVERTER CONTAMINATION INSPECTION in this service information. If the torque converter fails to pass the criteria for replacement or is damaged, INSTALL a new or remanufactured torque converter. REFER to Routine 251: Always Applied/Stalls Vehicle.
