Pinpoint Test E: Pressure Control Solenoid (Pc-A) (Line Pressure) Solenoid

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2011 Ford F550 Super Duty and 2011 Ford F450 Super Duty. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: This test should only be used if DTCs P0748, P0960, P0962 or P0963 are present.
NOTE: Read and record all DTCs.
NOTE: Refer to the Transmission Vehicle Harness Connector illustration within the TRANSMISSION CONNECTOR LAYOUTS  procedure in this service information.
NOTE: Refer to the Transmission Internal Harness Connector illustration within the TRANSMISSION CONNECTOR LAYOUTS  procedure in this service information.
  1. E1 CHECK TRANSMISSION VEHICLE HARNESS FOR CONTINUITY
    • Ignition OFF.
    • Disconnect: PCM C175T.
    • Disconnect: Transmission Vehicle Harness C1385.
    • Check to make sure the transmission vehicle harness C1385 is fully seated, terminals are fully engaged in the connector and are in good condition before proceeding.
    • Measure the resistance between PCM C175T and C1385 using the following chart.
      CIRCUIT REFERENCE CHART

      Transmission Connector Circuit PCM
      C1385-10 CET50 (WH/OG) C175T-42

    • Is resistance greater than 10,000 ohms?
    • Yes:  GO to  E3
    • No:  REPAIR the shorted circuit. CLEAR the DTCs. TEST the system for normal operation.
  3. E3 CHECK THE TRANSMISSION INTERNAL HARNESS FOR AN OPEN
    • Drain the transmission fluid.
    • Remove the transmission fluid pan.
    • Disconnect: Pressure Control Solenoid A (PCA).
    • Measure the resistance between transmission internal harness C1385 and the PCA  solenoid using the following chart.
