Symptom Chart

NOTE: Refer to SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAMS (Sable) or SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAMS (Taurus) for the connector numbers stated in the pinpoint tests.
SYMPTOM CHART

Condition Possible Sources Action
The stoplamps are inoperative
  • Circuitry.
  • Central pedal position (CJB) fuse 217 (15A).
  • Brake pedal position (BPP) switch.
 GO to PINPOINT TEST L .
One or more stoplamps are inoperative
  • Circuitry.
  • Bulb.
  • Multifunction switch.
 GO to PINPOINT TEST M .
The stoplamps are on continuously
  • Circuitry.
  • BPP switch.
  • Multifunction switch (sedan only).
 GO to PINPOINT TEST N .
