Recommended Procedure

Ensure there is fuel in the tank, the pump is being powered and there are no restrictions. Remove the plug from the front of the fuel filter housing. Install Adapter (303-765) and Gauge 0-160 psi (0-1.1mPa) (Bar 014-00761) or equivalent. See Fig 1. Measure the fuel pressure in crank and run position. If pressure measures below 45 psi (310 kPa), see TEST 11: ELECTRIC FUEL PUMP INLET RESTRICTION .
A stuck-open regulator valve or air in fuel system will cause low fuel pressure. A stuck-closed regulator valve (possibly caused by foreign material) will cause high fuel pressure for a short time until the pump fails. See Fig 2.
