Removal & Installation: Flywheel: Removal

Prepare the vehicle for flywheel removal. Remove the transmission. CLUTCHES article for 2002 models or MANUAL TRANSMISSION for 2003 models. Remove the pressure plate and clutch disc. See CLUTCH ASSEMBLY for 2002 models or CLUTCH DISC AND PRESSURE PLATE for 2003 models.
Remove 2 flywheel bolts and install the guide studs. See Fig 1. Remove the remaining bolts. Remove the reinforcing ring, flywheel and ring gear assembly. Remove the flywheel guide studs.
