Self-Diagnostic Test

Connect New Generation Star (NGS) tester (418-F052) to Data Link Connector (DLC) located beneath instrument panel and select proper vehicle from scan tool menu.
If NGS tester does not communicate with vehicle, refer to NGS manual and check data link connector circuits. See COMPUTER DATA LINES in SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAMS article.

If DTCs retrieved are related to customer concern, see DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE INDEX table. If no DTCs related to customers concern are retrieved, go to INSTRUMENT CLUSTER TEST MODE .

⁽¹⁾	Clear DTCs. Repeat self-diagnostic test. If DTC B1342 reoccurs, replace instrument cluster. Configure replacement instrument cluster, clear DTCs and repeat self-diagnostic test.
