Test T: Turn Signal/Hazard Indicator Inoperative/Always On
- Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Operate hazard lights and left and right turn signals. If hazard lights and both turn signals operate properly, go to next step. If hazard lights and/or turn signals do not operate properly, repair as necessary. See EXTERIOR LIGHTS article.
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Access instrument cluster harness connectors. It may be necessary to remove instrument cluster for access to instrument cluster harness connectors. See REMOVAL & INSTALLATION . If right turn signal indicator on instrument panel is never/always on, go to next step. If left turn signal indicator on instrument panel is never/always on, go to step 4 .
- Disconnect 20-pin instrument cluster harness connector C251. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Place multifunction switch in right turn position. Measure voltage between ground and instrument cluster harness connector C251 terminal No. 3 (White/Light Blue wire). See Figure . Voltage should pulse between zero and battery voltage. If voltage is as specified, go to step 5 . If voltage is not as specified, repair open or short in White/Light Blue wire between instrument cluster, multifunction switch and right front park/turn bulb. See EXTERIOR LIGHTS article.
- Disconnect 12-pin instrument cluster harness connector C250. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Place multifunction switch in left turn position. Measure voltage between ground and instrument cluster harness connector C250 terminal No. 3 (Light Green/White). See Figure . Voltage should pulse between zero and battery voltage. If voltage is as specified, go to next step. If voltage is not as specified, repair open or short in Light Green/White wire between instrument cluster, multifunction switch and left front park/turn bulb. See EXTERIOR LIGHTS article.
- Disconnect all instrument cluster harness connectors. Inspect all instrument cluster harness connectors for loose, damaged or corroded terminals. If terminals are damaged, repair as necessary. If terminals are not damaged, reconnect all instrument cluster harness connectors. Ensure instrument cluster harness connectors are seated properly. If problem still exists, replace instrument cluster module. See REMOVAL & INSTALLATION .
