Test S: High Beam Indicator Is Inoperative/Always On
- Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Turn head lights on and switch to high beam. If high beam operates correctly, go to next step. If high beams do not operate correctly, repair high beams as necessary. See appropriate EXTERIOR LIGHTS article in WIRING DIAGRAMS.
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect instrument cluster connector C809. Measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 21 (Green/White wire) at instrument cluster harness connector. If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, repair open in Green/White wire and retest.
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Check for corrosion, pushed out pins and connectors that are not connected properly. Repair any damage found and reconnect any loose connectors. Operate system. If problem still exists, replace instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Configure replacement instrument cluster, see appropriate MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK article. If problem does not exist, then system is operating properly at this time, clear any DTCs and retest.
