Test M: Engine Oil Pressure Warning Indicator Is Always On
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect engine oil pressure switch connector C954. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. If oil warning indicator turns off, replace engine oil pressure switch and retest. If oil warning indicator remains on, go to next step.
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 1 (Black/Orange wire) at oil pressure switch harness connector C954 or C956. If resistance is more than 10 k/ohms, go to next step. If resistance is less than 10 k/ohms, repair short to ground in Black/Orange wire and retest.
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Check for corrosion, pushed out pins and connectors that are not connected properly. Repair any damage found and reconnect any loose connectors. Operate system. If problem still exists, replace instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Configure replacement instrument cluster, see appropriate MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK article. If problem does not exist, then system is operating properly at this time, clear any DTCs and retest.
