Test X: 4X4/4X4 Low Range Indicator Is Always On (Manual Shift)

Disconnect 4X4 range switch 2-pin harness connector C161. 4X4 range switch is located below center of vehicle, near Digital Transmission Range (DTR) sensor. DTR sensor is located on left side of transmission. Turn ignition switch to ON position. If 4X4 and 4X4 LOW RANGE indicators do not illuminate, replace 4X4 range switch. Retest system operation. If 4X4 indicator illuminates, repair Light Blue wire as necessary between instrument cluster and 4X4 range switch. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Retest system operation. If 4X4 LOW RANGE indicator illuminates, repair Light Blue/Black wire as necessary between instrument cluster and 4X4 range switch. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Retest system operation.
