Test P: High Beam Indicator Inoperative

  1. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Remove instrument cluster to gain access to high beam indicator bulb. See REMOVAL & INSTALLATION . Remove bulb. Check bulb for continuity. If bulb is okay, go to next step. If bulb is not okay, replace bulb. Retest system operation.
  2. Disconnect instrument cluster 12-pin harness connector C250C. Turn headlights ON. Place multifunction switch in high beam position. Measure voltage between ground and instrument cluster 12-pin harness connector C250C terminal No. 8 (Light Green/Black wire). See Figure. If battery voltage is not present, go to next step. If battery voltage is present, replace instrument cluster. See REMOVAL & INSTALLATION . Retest system operation.
  3. Verify headlight high beam operation. If high beams work correctly, repair open in Light Green/Black wire between instrument cluster and multifunction switch. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Retest system operation. If high beams do not operate correctly, repair high beam circuit. See EXTERIOR LIGHTS article. Retest system operation.
