Test B: No Communication With Front Electronics Module (Fem)
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect FEM harness connectors C190 (12-pin), C192 (17-pin), C346 (20-pin) and C348 (4-pin). Turn ignition switch to ON position. Measure voltage between FEM harness connector C346 terminal No. 1 (Light Blue/Red wire) and ground. Measure voltage between FEM harness connector C190 terminal No. 6 (Red wire) and ground. If voltage is more than 10 volts at both terminals, go to next step. If voltage is 10 volts or less at either terminal, repair open in Light Blue/Red wire or Red wire.
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Measure resistance between FEM harness connector C190 terminal No. 12 (Black wire), FEM harness connector C192 terminals No. 11, 13, 14 and 15 (Black wires) and ground. If resistance is less than 5 ohms at every terminal, repair module communications concern. See MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK - WINDSTAR article. If resistance is 5 ohms or more at any terminal, repair open in Black wire.
