Removal & Installation (F-Series)

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove in-bed tank assembly cover. Disconnect electrical connector, high-pressure fuel line, and jumper fuel line from bed mounted fuel tank solenoid valve. Place matching marks on upper bed mounted tank straps and tank. Remove upper in-bed fuel tank straps. Position Floor Crane (014-00072), Separator Lift Bar (303-F054), and Lifting Sling (100-D008) over fuel tank. Carefully raise fuel tank assembly from vehicle.
  2. To install, reverse removal procedure. Lubricate new "O" rings with 5W-30 engine oil. After installation is complete, natural gas fuel lines must be leak tested. Perform LEAK TEST (CNG) or LEAK TEST (LPG) under FUEL SYSTEM (NATURAL GAS VEHICLES) in SYSTEM & COMPONENT TESTING - EEC-V (BI-FUEL & NATURAL GAS) article.
