Leak Test (CNG)

NOTE:
DO NOT use Rotunda Combustible Gas Detector on CNG equipped vehicles.
- Raise and support the vehicle. Rotate quarter-turn valve located under rear of vehicle to open position. Ensure CNG tank is filled to 1500 psi (105.5 kg/cm2 ). Set manual shutoff valve to the open position.
- Apply a quality leak reactant or equivalent over high-pressure fittings and lines. Start with the fuel tank filler valve and proceed to the check valve and the rest of the system.
- Leaks from the CNG system will exhibit soapy bubbles. A mild soap and water solution may be used as an alternative. If any leaks are discovered, evacuate fuel tank. See FUEL SYSTEM VENTING in REMOVAL, OVERHAUL & INSTALLATION - CNG/LPG (BI-FUEL) article. Repair any leaks detected.
- Fill the CNG tank to 3000 psi (211 kg/cm2 ). Repeat steps 2 and 3 to detect any other leaks. If no leaks are detected, place manual shutoff valve to normal operation position.
