Removal and Installation

  1. Remove the rear brake disc. For additional information, refer to REAR DISC BRAKE .
  2. Remove the parking brake shoe upper return spring.
  3. Remove the 2 parking brake shoe retaining pins.
  4. Remove the 2 parking brake shoe retaining springs.
  5. Remove the parking brake shoe lower return spring.
  6. Remove the parking brake shoe adjuster.
  7. Remove the parking brake shoes.
  8. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
    • Using anti-seize lubricant, lubricate the parking brake shoe contact points before installation of the rear parking brake shoes.
    • Lubricate the adjust screw threads with anti-seize lubricant.
    • Adjust the parking brake shoe and lining. For additional information, refer to PARKING BRAKE SHOE ADJUSTMENT .
    • Check the parking brake for normal operation.
