Parking Brake Shoe Adjustment

SPECIAL TOOL(S)
| Brake Adjusting Gauge 206-D002 (D81L-1103-A) or equivalent |
- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING & LIFTING .
- Using the release handle, release the parking brake control.
- Remove the rear brake disc. For additional information, refer to REAR DISC BRAKE .
- Using the special tool, measure the inside diameter of the drum portion of the rear brake disc and set the locking screw.
- Record the measurement.
- Place the special tool over the widest diameter of the parking brake shoes.
- Adjust the parking brake shoe clearance to 1.07 mm (0.04 in) less than the inside diameter of the drum portion of the rear brake disc.
- Rotate the parking brake shoe adjuster to achieve the correct parking brake shoe-to-brake disc clearance.
- Install the rear brake disc. For additional information, refer to REAR DISC BRAKE .
- Test the parking brake for normal operation.
NOTE:
Make sure the parking brake is fully released.
