Test F: Solenoid Mechanical Failure

NOTE: Repair all other DTCs before proceeding.

  1. Electronic Diagnosis Set Up

    Connect NGS tester to DLC. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Perform KOEO self-test until continuous memory DTCs have been displayed. See QUICK TEST  under DIAGNOSIS & TESTING. If DTC P1714, P1715, P1716, P1717 and/or P1740 is present, continue with this test. If any other DTCs are present relating to TFT sensor and/or shift solenoids, repair those DTCs first. Clear DTCs, perform TRANSAXLE DRIVE CYCLE TEST  under DIAGNOSIS & TESTING and rerun QUICK TEST. If other DTCs related to TFT sensor and/or shift solenoids are not present, go to next step.

  2. Transaxle Drive Cycle Test

    Perform TRANSAXLE DRIVE CYCLE TEST  under DIAGNOSIS & TESTING. If vehicle upshifts and downshifts properly, go to next step. If vehicle does not upshift and downshift properly, see SYMPTOM DIAGNOSIS  under TROUBLE SHOOTING to diagnose shift concern.

  3. Retrieve DTCs

    With NGS tester connected, perform KOEO self-test until continuous memory DTCs have been displayed. See QUICK TEST  under DIAGNOSIS & TESTING. If DTC P1714, P1715, P1716, P1717 and/or P1740 is still present, replace PCM, road test vehicle and repeat QUICK TEST. If DTC P1714, P1715, P1716, P1717 and/or P1740 is not present, see SYMPTOM DIAGNOSIS  under TROUBLE SHOOTING.
