Using NGS Tester

  1. Connect New Generation Star (NGS) Tester (007-00500) or equivalent to Data Link Connector (DLC), located under instrument panel, to retrieve continuous diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) and run self test diagnostics.
  2. If self test is passed and no DTCs are retrieved, go to diagnostic symptoms table. See DIAGNOSTIC SYMPTOMS  table.
  3. If DTCs are retrieved, go to diagnostic trouble code table. See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) IDENTIFICATION  table.
  4. If Restraints Control Module (RCM) module cannot be accessed by NGS tester, go to TEST R: NO COMMUNICATION WITH RCM  to continue diagnostics.
