Removal & Installation

Disconnect negative battery cable. Partially drain coolant. See COOLING SYSTEM DRAINING under COOLING SYSTEMS. Disconnect Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor connector. Remove ECT sensor.

NOTE: If ECT sensor is reused, apply Pipe Sealant with Teflon® (D8AZ-19554-A), meeting Ford specification ESR-M18P7-A to threads.

To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten sensor to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Fill and bleed cooling system. See COOLING SYSTEM FILLING & BLEEDING under COOLING SYSTEMS.
