Starting Concerns

No Start, Normal Crank - Gasoline and ALT Fuel

NOTE: Extended cranking because of a no start can load the exhaust system with raw fuel, damaging the catalytic converter after the engine starts.

NOTE: Add-on anti-theft devices may disable the starting system. If equipped, make sure unit is disabled.

SYSTEM/COMPONENT	REFERENCE (PINPOINT TEST - BI-FUEL CNG unless noted)
Add-on Anti-Theft Devices	Visual, check with customer.
Fuel	GO to Pinpoint Test AA .
If engine is now a no start: Ignition System	Refer to INTRODUCTION - CNG, FLEX-FUEL & GASOLINE .
Idle Air Control (IAC) System	Refer to INTRODUCTION - CNG, FLEX-FUEL & GASOLINE .
Exhaust System (restrictions)	Refer to INTRODUCTION - CNG, FLEX-FUEL & GASOLINE .
