  1. AU1 PRELIMINARY DIAGNOSIS FOR DTC P0069
    • Connect the scan tool.
    • Retrieve and record all DTCs.
    • Clear all DTCs.
    • Perform KOEO on-demand self-test.
    • Perform continuous on-demand self-test.

IS DTC P0069 PRESENT ALONG WITH OTHER DTCS?

    Yes No
REFER to the DTC chart for appropriate diagnosis. For DTC P0069 only, Go to  AU2. UNABLE to duplicate concern. ROAD TEST vehicle and RETEST the system.
  2. AU2 DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) P0069
NOTE: Most weather services report a local barometric pressure that has been corrected to factor in sea level. However, the BARO PID reports the barometric pressure for the vehicle's actual altitude. Local weather conditions (high or low pressure) will change the local barometric pressure by several inches of mercury.
    • Possible causes:
      • BARO sensor
      • MAP sensor
      • PCM
    • Access BARO/MAP PIDs.
    • Key on.
    • Record BARO/MAP values.
    • Check that the BARO/PID reading is approximately the same as the barometric pressure reading for the location, day, and altitude where the vehicle is being serviced.

DOES THE BARO PID READING COMPARE WITH DAILY BAROMETRIC REPORT FOR SERVICE AREA?

    Yes No
Go to  AU3. INSTALL a new BARO sensor. RESTORE the vehicle. CLEAR DTCs and RETEST the system.
  3. AU3 COMPARE BARO KOER AND KOEO READINGS
    • Engine running.
    • Access BARO PIDs.
    • Compare engine BARO KOER reading with KOEO reading.

IS THE BARO PID VALUE EQUAL TO THE RECORDED VALUE?

    Yes No
Go to  AU4. INSTALL a new BARO sensor. RESTORE the vehicle. CLEAR DTCs and RETEST the system.
  4. AU4 COMPARE BARO/MAP VALUES
    • Engine running.
    • Access BARO/MAP PIDs.
    • Compare the BARO/MAP reading with KOEO values.

IS THE MAP SENSOR READING WITHIN 30 KPA (4.3 PSI) OF THE BARO READING?

    Yes No
INSTALL a new PCM. RESTORE the vehicle. CLEAR DTCs and RETEST the system. CHECK MAP sensor hose for damage. REPLACE the hose if a concern is found. If no hose concern is detected, INSTALL a new MAP sensor. RESTORE the vehicle. CLEAR DTCs and RETEST the system.
