    • Verify the vehicle has correct calibration.
    • Refer to the auxiliary powertrain control manual provided with the system to verify correct operating procedures and entry conditions.

ARE ENTRY CONDITIONS MET AND CORRECT CALIBRATION INSTALLED?

    Yes No
Go to  AN2. CORRECT operating procedure or CORRECT calibration level as required. CLEAR the DTCs and RETEST. If system still does not operate, Go to  AN2.
  2. AN2 CHECK FOR DTCs
NOTE: When performing the Key On Engine Running (KOER) Self Test, wait five seconds after pressing the trigger to start the test before running through the driver-operated controls. The test may take up to five minutes to complete.

    ARE ANY DTCS RETRIEVED?

    Yes No
REFER to the appropriate pinpoint test. Go to  AN3.
  3. AN3 CHECK THE APCM FOR VOLTAGE
    • Key off.
    • Disconnect the APCM.
    • Key on, engine off.
    • Measure the voltage between the APCM connector pin 3 (F-SuperDuty) or pin 4 (E-Series), harness side and ground.

IS THE VOLTAGE GREATER THAN 10.5 VOLTS?

    Yes No
Go to  AN4. REPAIR the circuit.
  4. AN4 CHECK THE APCM GROUND CIRCUIT
    • Key off.
    • Measure the resistance between the APCM connector pin 1 (F-SuperDuty) or pin 2 (E-Series), harness side and ground.

IS THE RESISTANCE LESS THAN 5 OHMS?

    Yes No
Go to  AN5 . REPAIR the circuit.
  5. AN5 CHECK CIRCUIT 915 (BUS-) FOR AN OPEN
    • Measure the resistance between the APCM connector pin 4 (F-SuperDuty) or pin 3 (E-Series), harness side and the DLC pin 10, harness side.

IS THE RESISTANCE LESS THAN 5 OHMS?

    Yes No
Go to  AN6. REPAIR the circuit.
  6. AN6 CHECK CIRCUIT 914 (BUS+) FOR AN OPEN
    • Measure the resistance between the APCM connector pin 2 (F-SuperDuty) or pin 1 (E-Series), harness side and the DLC pin 2, harness side.

IS THE RESISTANCE LESS THAN 5 OHMS?

    Yes No
INSTALL a new APCM. REPAIR the circuit.
  7. AN7 CHECK THE BPP SWITCH INPUT
    • Press the brake pedal.

    IS THE HI-MOUNT STOPLIGHT ON?

    Yes No
Go to  AI1. Refer to the appropriate EXTERIOR LIGHTING article to continue hi-mount stoplight diagnosis.
