Test Procedure

- AD1 CHECK FOR DTCs
- Connect the scan tool.
- Record any DTCs.
- Clear DTCs.
- Perform the On-Demand Self Test.
ARE ANY DTCS PRESENT?
Yes No Go to the appropriate DTC pinpoint test. Go to AD2. - AD2 CHECK VEHICLE BATTERY POWER CIRCUIT
- Key off.
- Disconnect the PCM body harness connector.
- Key on.
- Measure voltage between the PCM body harness connector pin 34 and pin 46 and ground.
- Check for loose connections. Check for damaged pins or corrosion. Wiggle the harness while taking measurements.
IS VOLTAGE PRESENT?
Yes No Go to AD3. REPAIR open in the circuit. RESTORE the vehicle. RETEST the system. - AD3 CHECK PCM POWER RETURN CIRCUIT
- Key off.
- Measure resistance between the PCM body harness connector pin 11 and pin 23 and ground.
IS THE RESISTANCE LESS THAN 5 OHMS?
Yes No Unable to duplicate condition. CHECK for loose connections, damaged or corroded pins. WIGGLE harness attempting to recreate fault. REFER to SYMPTOM CHARTS - 6.0L DIESEL . REPAIR open in power return circuit. RESTORE the vehicle. RETEST the system.
