Test B: Engine Cranks Slowly

- Perform STARTER LOAD TEST under COMPONENT TESTS. If starter passes load test, go to next step. If starter fails load test, verify condition of batteries. If batteries are okay, go to step 3.
- Perform VOLTAGE DROP TEST under ON-VEHICLE TESTING. If starter passes voltage drop test, go to next step. If starter fails voltage drop test, clean circuit connections as necessary.
- Perform STARTER NO-LOAD TEST under COMPONENT TESTS. If starter passes no load test, slow cranking is caused by excessive engine drag. If starter fails no load test, replace starter motor. See STARTER MOTOR under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Restore electrical connections and check system operation.
