Pinpoint Test Ah: All Power Windows Are Inoperative

  1. AH1 CHECK THE SJB DTCs 
    • Retrieve the recorded DTC results from the SJB for the continuous and on-demand self-test.
    • Are any DTCs recorded? 

    Yes 

    Refer to the SMART JUNCTION BOX (SJB) DTC INDEX - GLASS, FRAMES AND MECHANISMS .

    No 

    GO to AH2

  2. AH2 CHECK THE LH WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH GROUND 
    • Disconnect: LH Window Control Switch C508a.
    • Measure the resistance between LH window control switch C508a-1, circuit 1205 (BK), harness side and ground; and between the LH window control switch C508a-5, circuit 1205 (BK), harness side and ground.

    • Is the resistance less than 5 ohms on both circuits? 

    Yes 

    GO to AH3

    No 

    REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.

  3. AH3 CHECK FOR CORRECT MODULE OPERATION 
    • Disconnect all SJB connectors
    • Check for:
      • corrosion
      • pushed-out pins
    • Connect all the SJB connectors and make sure they are seated correctly.
    • Operate the system and verify the concern is still present.
    • Is the concern still present? 

    Yes 

    INSTALL a new SJB. Refer to MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK .

    CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the SJB self-test.

    No 

    The system is operating correctly at this time. Concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
