WARNING:
Do not smoke or carry lighted tobacco or open flame of any type when working on or near any fuel-related components. Highly flammable mixtures are always present and can be ignited, resulting in possible personal injury.
WARNING:
Fuel in the fuel system remains under high pressure even when the engine is not running. Before working on or disconnecting any of the fuel lines or fuel system components the fuel system pressure must be relieved. Failure to do so can result in personal injury.
- Disconnect the battery ground cable.
- Release the fuel system pressure. For additional information, refer to FUEL SYSTEM .
- Remove the air cleaner outlet tube. For additional information, refer to AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY in this section.
- Remove the components in the order indicated in the following illustration and table. See Fig 1.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
Item 2: Fuel Temperature Sensor Removal Note
- Using the special tool, remove the fuel temperature sensor. For additional information, refer to FUEL SYSTEM .
Item 2: Fuel Temperature Sensor Installation Note
- Align the fuel temperature sensor with the fuel tube and push together until an audible click is heard. Pull on the fittings to make sure they are fully engaged.
NOTE:
Lubricate the O-rings with clean engine oil.
