Removal And Installation: Thermostat: Removal

  1. Remove the thermostat housing. For additional information, refer to THERMOSTAT HOUSING  and THERMOSTAT AND THERMOSTAT HOUSING - EXPLODED VIEW .
    2. CAUTION: The thermostat is aligned to the marks inside the upper thermostat housing and must be returned to the original location.
  2. Remove the 3 thermostat housing bolts and separate the upper and lower thermostat housing.
  3. Remove the thermostat.
    1. Remove the O-ring seal and discard.
    2. Remove the thermostat.
