Generic Electronic Module/Central Timer Module: Notes
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Ford Pickup. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
CAUTION:
Disconnect battery before disconnecting Generic Electronic Module/Central Timer Module (GEM/CTM) harness connectors. Failure to do so will result in GEM/CTM storing erroneous codes and may also result in erratic operation of GEM/CTM after repairs.
CAUTION:
If replacing GEM/CTM, it is necessary to upload module configuration information to the New Generation STAR (NGS) tester. After installation, this information needs to be downloaded into the new GEM/CTM module. NGS tester will retain uploaded information for only 24 hours.
